Anyone who runs regularly has likely experienced an injury of some degree. Experts vary in their opinions on the common causes of running injuries. Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is linked to repetitive movements of the hand and wrist, which is common among data entry workers, assembly line laborers, mechanics and carpenters. CTS is caused by compression of the median nerve in the arm as it passes through the carpal tunnel in the wrist. Symptoms of CTS include feelings of weakness, numbness, tingling and burning in the hand and fingers.
