Intracept Procedure

Intracept is a new procedure being used at Southeast Orthopedic Specialists to treat chronic vertebrogenic back pain. Vertebrogenic pain is classified as pain not caused by the intervertebral disc, but by the vertebral end plate in the spine.

The Intracept Procedure is a minimally invasive procedure that targets the basivertebral nerve for the relief of chronic vertebrogenic low back pain. This procedure is sometimes indicated for patients who have not responded to conservative treatment options. This procedure is minimally invasive and does not require an implant or hardware to be attached to the spine.
