Dr. Eric Kim is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon with a focus on adult reconstructive surgery. He graduated with his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, PA and went on to complete his internship at Mercy Suburban Hospital in Norristown, PA. After his internship, Dr. Kim went back to Philadelphia where he completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Kim then continued his training and completed his fellowship in adult reconstructive surgery at the University of California, Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, CA.
Dr. Kim is a member of a variety of highly esteemed organizations, including the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics, and the International Congress for Joint Reconstruction. He is also well published on the topics of both hip and knee arthroplasty.
In his free time, Dr. Kim enjoys cooking and being active through golfing, weightlifting, hiking and scuba diving.

I am elated to have found Dr. Kim. My hip revision surgery is pretty complicated. I sought THREE other opinions and finally have confidence in what I am hearing. He was warm yet very straight forward about how poorly the condition of my hip’s old parts presented on Xray; One of the worst he’s seen, yet he said he had redone one just like it recently. It’s always a pleasure to go there. The staff is friendly. You’re waiting time is very minimal and Dr. Kim has done wonders for me ,my knee surgery was a great success, being overweight. I had my worries and doubts that being overweight would cause a problem, but I lost 30 something pounds and I’ve had no issue whatsoever. I’m so pleased and happy no more pain.

When he walked in, the first thing Dr Kim did was shake my hand. I immediately liked him and felt at ease. After asking me when I first hurt my hip, he examined me and then went over my exrays. He told me what was wrong and made a suggestion that he said would make me feel better. I trusted his judgment. I got the shot and feel better. Easy peasy! I highly recommend him if you're having hip pain.

It was wonderful! Dr Kim explained thoroughly what the next steps were to address my knee concerns. We talked about options including knee replacement and starting with cortisone shots first and then consider knee replacement given the severity of its condition. Dr Kim and his staff are very friendly and efficient. I didn’t have to wait very long to be seen. My daughter Holly was with me for the appointment. He came in to explain future issues I may have regarding arthritis. He checked out my knee for mobility and said I was doing well. He said if I had any issues please call him and he would help me. Before he left my daughter had a question for him regarding taking antibiotics before having any dental procedures. He fully answered her question. He is calling in prescriptions for me to be able to have medication before any dentist appointment. He was very professional and understanding. My visit yesterday was scheduled for 10:20 am but they were running behind about an hour with people having to stand up because of no seating. Once I did get back to see Dr Kim, the visit was fine. Dr Kim ask me if I had any concerns. He then explained to follow med recommendations so the surgery will proceed as planned. Dr Kim is very personable with a very calming presence. Excellent experience. Dr.Kim listened and explained everything very well. He didn’t seem rushed as many doctors seem to be. He seems caring and compassionate as well as intelligent. He gave me a detailed explanation of pain management post-knee replacement surgery (robotic). He’s young, but performs this surgery 4-5 times a week! He also gave me a gel injection in my other knee which was painless. (I iced knee after visit, and it feels great now.) X-Ray procedure and the tech are efficient and detailed. Dr Kim also explained each X-ray and why my knees have different levels of pain. Having the cellphone direct number to his PA is comforting and a superb idea. I think Dr Kim and his staff are excellent. He seems intelligent, compassionate and caring. Also he listened well and answered all questions without ever seeming rushed etc. He does 4-5 robotic knee surgeries a week, which made me feel he's got lots of experience. He will replace my right knee at St Vincent's Hospital. He gave me a gel injection in my left knee that was painless. It feels good now. I love that I have his PA's cellphone number for problems. Absolutely the best Ortho Surgeon!! 2.6 years ago, I received a Titanium knee replacement with the use of the Mako robot. Dr. Lee reviewed the X-Rays and fully explained my situation, which was very obviously seen. I was very lucky to recover in a short period of time and I love my new knew. Life is good pain free! The incision was not closed with old school stitches that leave a nasty zipper scar. I have a hairline scar that is barely noticeable. Precision work at its finest! Unfortunately I just went back to Dr. Lee for pain in my other leg. The problem was not the same. After taking X-Rays and once again explaining my situation, Dr. Lee suggested a steroid injection. He could have just said let’s replace that knee too. But, he didn’t. I respect his decision to do the right thing for me at this time. He is a great listener and teacher of his profession. I love Dr. Lee and everyone that asks me knows it too!

Dr. Kim Did not rush me, answered all of my questions & explained all that I needed to know with patience. Being in severe pain and walking with a limp on my left side my video was reviewed by Dr. Eric Kim. After consulting with me , his professional advice was that a hip replacement was needed. In February 2022 , I underwent surgery and at that time he found tendons were torn which also had to be repaired. Surgery went very well and following his aftercare instructions and some therapy sessions in my hometown , have resulted in a wonderful recovery. NO more pain or limping. Dr. Kim was able to fit my dad into his clinical schedule the very same week my dad called for an appointment and evaluation. Imaging was done on site and the results were back immediately. Dr. Kim and his team were able to schedule my dad for a total hip replacement the following week. I was very impressed with the responsiveness/timeliness of Dr. Kim and his team as well as the amount of face to face time he spent with my dad. Dr. Kim left my dad his card with his cell phone in case he couldn't reach anyone at the office and had any questions. Dr. Kim did a fantastic job explaining the surgery and setting expectations for my dad and the entire family. Dr. Kim made sure we were comfortable moving forward before proceeding. My dads pain was very well controlled after surgery and he got up and walked with Physical therapy the same day. Dr. Kim and his team made sure we had everything we needed before discharging from the hospital. My dad has made a full recovery following his hip replacement and the physical therapist that just discharged him was surprised at how well he was already doing considering. If you're looking for a surgeon with great bedside manner and is approachable and available to communicate openly Dr. Kim should be your surgeon.
