Dr. Christopher Swanson is a double board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in sports medicine. He earned his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Dr. Swanson then completed a residency at Drexel University College of Medicine and Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Following his residency, Dr. Swanson completed a fellowship in sports medicine and shoulder and knee surgery at the Cincinnati Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center in Cincinnati, OH.
Dr. Swanson is the former assistant team physician for the Cincinnati Bengals and Drexel University Men’s Basketball Team. Currently, he serves as the team physician for Trinity Christian High School, Baker County High School and various local high schools.

Dr. Swanson is an AMAZING individual. He always greets his patients with a smile and positive attitude. He knows his profession inside and out. He also 'listens' to his patients, which sometimes makes him run late for his next appointment, but he wants to be sure that he knows what his patients is experiencing and lets you know what he is happy with and provides information as to what needs to be accomplished next. Dr. Swanson did surgery on my right shoulder rotator cuff. I had a big tear in my tissue. It was bad. Dr. Swanson did the surgery at the beginning of this year. So far everything has been going well. Just a little pain. Not like before the surgery. I was in tremendous pain. Dr. Swanson is the best out there. I can go back to doing things I use to do without the pain. I consulted with Dr. Swanson about six years ago regarding a severed ACL. Back then, I decided to forego surgery. However, after twisting my knee about a week ago after taking a bad step, I realized that it was time to see Dr. Swanson again to discuss surgery. I saw Dr. Swanson after I suspected a tear in my rotator cuff. I was experiencing the tell tale signs (aching at night, tingling in my fingers at night, loss of strength in the affected arm) and made an appointment with him. He was very friendly, knowledgeable and checked my strength compared to my strong arm and said that I had significant strength loss. He ordered an MRI and the results came back that I had a large tear. I did not hesitate to schedule the surgery and he was very upfront with the length of time for recovery (5 to 6 months) to full activity. I am just about at 6 months now after surgery and am back to FULL activity! He was always pleasant, listened well, answered my questions and gave great advice for my journey to healing after the surgery. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND him! I had my surgery done on the 22nd. I’m at day seven. I am totally impressed. I haven’t taken a pain pill in four days uncomfortable here and there but coping with it had a total reversal shoulder replacement. The staff is unbelievable. I had a complete rotator cuff tear and bicep tendon tear. I had a bicycle acident and that how this all happened. Doctor Swanson and staff were very good to me. He was explained everything to me about my surgery.I was disappointed because I couldn't ride my bike, but I was given a stationary and follow cycles on Y-tube making my experience so much beter. I was very concerned about a constant pain with my right shoulder from over use while I recouping from surgery on left bicep tendon. I was sure I had messed up rotator cuff and needed surgery. Dr Swanson did x-rays and relieved my mind as it was inflammation around the area. Thankfully no surgery needed, offered a cortisone injection to help relieve pain and inflammation. Efficiency, pure & simple. The staff surrounding Dr. Swanson knew exactly how to present me with information on how to facilitate my visit. I was in Florida visiting family. Begin to have issues with my right arm. It was my first time seeing Dr. Swanson as I was referred via Ascension St. Vincent’s Urgent Care - Town Center. My did he leave a positive impression. Awesome personality, patient concern /care was second to none. He reviewed my x-rays shared with me that my bones were in great condition at 93 years of age. When I first saw Dr. Swanson a year ago, I could not raise either arm above my waist. Both shoulders were locked and I could not perform even the simplest of procedures and I was in extreme pain constantly. Although my right arm is my dominant side, we chose to have my left reverse shoulder replacement done first because I had a bit more mobility on my right side. IMMEDIATELY after surgery, I had NO PAIN. I worked with Physical Therapy and progressed quickly. In November, I had my left shoulder operated on - another reverse shoulder replacement. That didn't go as well. I had issues coming out of surgery - nausea and pain - but that passed and it was on to PT for me. The pain is a thing of the past, I can raise my arms above my head, I can do my hair, get things out of the top shelf of the cupboard by myself, use the pressure washer and lawn mower myself with NO PAIN. It hasn't even been a whole year and the scars are hardly visible. I have my life back. Dr. Swanson, you and Kindra have been a gift from God to me. You explained EVERYTHING that was going to happen, step by step, and I was well prepared for what came. I just didn't expect my ability to move my arms would EVER be this good again. I work in a physical therapy facility and see many of his surgeries. He’s by far one of the best doctors we have encountered and all of his patients have returned to full duty or activities with no issues. Dr. Swanson and Kendra were the highest class. They put the pain shot in the position where my pain was at this time and it took away about 80% of the pain when I got home and did some exercising. It was a lot easier a lot less rusty hinge and another thing they do such a good job. I don’t know why you have to have a survey and every company has to have a survey if you don’t trust people don’t hire them or put a camera in every room so you can see what’s actually going on. Also, it is wrong to survey the cleanliness of the place because we all know supposed to be clean and all the underlings just doing their jobs did a good job
