Dr. Alexis Mugno is a board-certified podiatric specialist with extensive training and experience. She attended Barry University in Miami Shores, FL, where she received her Doctorate degree in Podiatric Medicine and was awarded a place on the Dean’s List. She furthered her training by participating in a three-year, high volume, Podiatric Medicine and Surgical Residency program at Jackson North Medical Center in Miami, FL. This Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Surgery Program allowed her to study and receive hands-on experience with surgery, didactics, wound care, and research. Dr. Mugno has participated in numerous clinical trials in wound care, as well as research on various podiatric conditions and treatments. Her comprehensive approach to patient care ensures that all of her patients receive tailored, effective wound care treatment, expediting their recovery and enhancing their quality of life.
Prior to her residency, she worked as a research associate at Yale University School of Medicine and held positions in the United States Air Force auxiliary. Dr. Mugno stays involved by serving as a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and American College of Podiatric Medicine.
Outside of the office, Dr. Mugno has a passion for surfing, golfing, cycling, spending time with her family and community service. She enjoys using her medical education to serve others through medical mission trips, such as The Dr. Charles C. Southerland Jr. Yucatan Children’s Project and Jose’s Hands in the Dominican Republic.

Very nice. She doesn't just do things just because. If it is not necessary she will tell you. She explains everything l. As long as she is in her profession I will go to her and no one else. She was out for a few months on maternity leave and no matter how much pain I was in I waited until she came back. I wish she was around when my feet pain started when I was in my 20s. But I'm glad I have her now as my podiatrist

I have been to any number of podiatrists since my diagnosis of Type 2 diabetes. Though all have been professional, I find Dr. Mungo to be at the top of the list. She is not only extremely thorough, she is also just as knowledgeable. She takes the amount of time that the examination demands, no more and no less. The is also very personable and makes an office visit less like a medical exam than a friend checking to be sure you are ok. I would not want to have to even consider a different provider. Everyone was extra special nice. Beginning with the receptionists, followed by the X-ray Technician, physician assistant and especially Dr. Mugno. The wait time was normal, and facility was clean and professional. Most importantly was the time, care, knowledge and guidance provided to me by Dr. Mugno. Dr. Mugno was an attentive listener attempting to understand my concern and potential toe issue. Dr. Mugno was thorough with her examination, and she provided assurance that at the present time the toe was in fact determined to be okay. Although this was my first visit with Dr. Mugno I will in all certainty see her again if ever the need arise. It was comforting to know my toe was in fact healing nicely and almost equally important was the advice given regarding the proper foot and toe maintenance.
