Dr. Gabriel Galan is an board-certified podiatrist that is highly trained in elective foot surgery, forefoot reconstruction, bunion and hammertoe correction, chronic non-healing wound treatment and diabetic wound care. Dr. Galan received his medical degree from Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami Shores, FL. He served as Chief Resident during his residency training at Westside Regional Medical Center in Plantation, FL.
Currently, Dr. Galan serves as the Medical Director at Ascension St. Vincent’s Riverside Wound Care Center, enabling him to offer his patients advanced wound care services, including clinical and surgical grafting, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, complex infection management, and limb preservation. When not practicing medicine, Dr. Galan enjoys working out, watching and playing football and spending time with his family. Traveling for medical purposes is also a passion of his, noted by his previous medical mission work in the Amazon, Peru, Dominican Republic and Yucatan Peninsula. Dr. Galan is fully bilingual and his ability to speak fluent Spanish has greatly helped him throughout his mission work.

I was having trouble walking due to a couple of calluses on the same foot(heel & ball). I dealt with this for years. Dr. Galan took care of it in less than four months. I deliver food with lots of walking, stairs, etc. My friend saw him last month and was given a less invasive option to straighten out her toes. Went into get y feet checked. I had to wait a bit but got my toe nails kid of fixed and a candy corn thing under my feet that was in my feet. he cut the ingrown toe nails without soaking my feet. Prescribed me a medication for the toes. The meds was ready for pickup really fast. The good part is he prescribed me a pair of zipper stocking to help the circulation in my feet. Dr. Galan is an ace! After several disappointing visits with another physician in this practice, I asked to see Dr. Galan. He took another set of x-rays, reviewed my MRI and gave me an actual exam (which had not been performed in 3 previous visits). I believe I now have a correct diagnosis and a plan forward to finally relieve my 12 weeks of pain. If you have a foot/ankle injury don’t waste your time with anyone else. In July 2019 I was admitted to Memorial Hospital of Jacksonville because I could barely walk due to foot pain caused by an infection of my small toe. Following a consultation, Dr. Gabriel Galan drained an abscess from my swollen discolored toe and patched the wound. Over the next two months, Dr. Galan monitored and cared for my foot wound. I could have lost the toe if not for Dr. Galan’s knowledge, skill and expertise.
