Dr. Brett Puckett, MD is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand and microvascular surgery. He received his medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark, NJ. Following medical school, he completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Florida Jacksonville Health Sciences Center. He then completed a fellowship in hand and microvascular surgery at the University of Texas San Antonio and the Hand Center of San Antonio.
Dr. Puckett previously served as the Director of Orthopedic Senior Clerkship and Assistant Professor at University of Florida Health Center in Jacksonville, FL.
Dr. Puckett is a two-time recipient of both the University of Florida Exemplary Teachers Award and the University of Florida Faculty Teaching Award.

Dr Puckett is very kind, compassionate, and when he says we're going to fix this, he means it. A few years back I lost most use of a thumb. I got it back. Recently I had a similar issue with a pinky. He injected it yesterday, and I can close my fist today as he told me I would. Can't say enough about Dr. Puckett. I injured my wrist several weeks ago and he knew exactly what to do without hesitation. He scheduled me for immediate surgery to prevent further damage. He explained things before, during and after the surgery so I knew exactly what to expect. I fell injuring my left arm although at first I appeared to be a contusion I later found out MRI that the left tricep was ruptured. I saw an Orthopedic surgeon but saw Dr. Puckett as a second opinion based on comments from former patients and nurses. I have been an health care for over 40 years and found Dr. Puckett surgical skills unsurpassed in areas of the upper extremity. Dr. Puckett and staff was excellent. I recommend this provider highly. I had to have surgery for a carpal tunnel release, as well as a ganglion cyst removed from my right hand/wrist. He gave me detailed information about the surgery. I felt that my hand was in his hands. Although my wrist became infected, Dr Puckett never skipped a beat. His PA-C was great too, from taking off the post op dressing, to discovering the infection, to taking out stiches. She was very kind & kept me relaxed. All & all, a good crew.Doctor of Medicine

“Last year my son broke his finger on the playground playing football. Dr. Puckett was able to see him immediately. He explained the problem very clearly to me and my son in terms that were easy to understand. He reassured my son that his finger would heal if he kept it stable.
