Evan Michaelson

Dr. Evan Michaelson is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and the treatment of shoulder, knee, and elbow conditions. He is dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care using the latest evidence-based techniques to help patients restore function, reduce pain, and return to the activities they enjoy.

Dr. Michaelson completed his medical degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine, where he was recognized with multiple honors, including induction into the Gold Humanism Honor Society and the Dean’s Award. He went on to complete his orthopedic surgery residency at Georgetown University Hospital, where he served as Academic Chief Resident. He further advanced his expertise through a Shoulder and Elbow Fellowship at the Mount Sinai Department of Orthopedics in New York, gaining specialized experience in complex upper extremity conditions and sports-related injuries.

His clinical interests include sports-related injuries, shoulder and knee conditions, elbow injuries, and arthritis, with a focus on both surgical and non-surgical treatment options. He has a particular interest in shoulder and knee arthroscopy, as well as shoulder replacement, including outpatient shoulder replacement.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Michaelson is committed to education and advancing the field of orthopedics. He is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Michaelson was a varsity track and field athlete during his undergraduate years at Bates College, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Philosophy.
