Colin P. Murphy
MD
Dr. Colin P. Murphy is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine. Dr. Murphy is a Jacksonville native and graduated from Nease High School. Following completion of his undergraduate studies at the University of Florida, he attended Georgetown University for his medical degree.
Dr. Murphy completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of North Dakota, where he was assistant team physician for the national champion North Dakota State University football team. Dr. Murphy went on to complete his fellowship in sports medicine and arthroscopy at the prestigious Steadman Philippon Research Institute in Vail, Colorado.
Dr. Murphy has dedicated himself to orthopedic research, authoring more than 50 publications during his career. His work was awarded the 2020 Jack Hughston Award, given to the most outstanding research article published in The American Journal of Sports Medicine.
Dr. Murphy is excited to return home and serve his community, including as team doctor for the Nease, Ponte Vedra, and Trinity Christian high school football teams. He also serves as team doctor to the US Ski and Snowboard Team.
Outside of orthopedics, Dr. Murphy enjoys snowboarding, hiking, golf, travel, and is an avid Florida Gators and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He, his wife, and their one-year-old daughter look forward to enjoying everything the first coast has to offer.
